Call For Discussion

This November, when everyone is voting for a president, there will also be three Arkansas state amendments on the ballot. The first two have to do with state term limits and providing funds to future economic opportunities in the state. The third amendment is Arkansas’ version of the Marriage Amendment. It basically defines marriage as between a man and a woman. The ACLU has filed a lawsuit deeming that the verbiage of the amendment is vague and would change more than just prohibiting marriage between same-sex couples. (for a list, see this.) From a recent poll, 80% of Arkansas’ population supports the amendment.

What do you guys think about this issue? Would you support an amendment in your state? Were you a supporter of the federal marriage amendment (now defunct)? To what extent does your faith dictates how you vote? I’ll save my comments for the end. No answer is taboo.
