A Day of Misunderstandings

I find it slightly embarassing to admit that I spent most of the day watching television. Even more embarassing is the fact that I have spent 2 weekends in a row doing this and really nothing else. I know, I know - you’re frowning like I’m a dignified couch potato, and you’re probably right. I haven’t come very far from college where my roommate marveled at how many hours I spent at the computer without taking a bathroom break.

This is my lame excuse: the majority of my week is busy busy busy with work, attempting to design something cool for the clients and trying my darndest to get it delivered on-time. So when I’m home, laying around and doing absolutely nothing is like taking a 5 hour bath that never gets cold. In other words, its MARVELOUS. Today I was flipping between a stupid show on E! that would drive Josh nuts and Headline News on CNN. I was mostly watching tickers - and managed to only catch half of a story. The following misunderstandings occured:

> Josh!

>(muffled from another room) Huh?

>I think Jimmy Page died!

>(in the doorway now) He did?

>I saw his name on the ticker - he’s not dead already, right?

>No, but he looks like it.

Later I look it up on the internet and see that it was his birthday, not his death! doh. Happy 61st, Jimmy. Rock on.

Five minutes after that, I see a snippet that says something about “Clarkson” and “suicide” - and I go, “Kelly Clarkson committed suicide?!!!” I watch a really dumb show on E! for another 30 minutes just to see the ticker again and find out it was about the Phil Specter murder case, not Kelly (whew).

I think I need to get out more :)
