They Say My T-Shirt Should Read, “Roll the F**kin’ Dice, People.”

Have you guys ever had an instance in your life where, all of a sudden, you felt that people you considered good friends- hardly knew you at all?

I’ve sort of had a falling out with the girls in my Bunco group. When i say “falling out” - I don’t mean we had some smack down of a fight– more that I have come to grips with a few things:

1. No one really wants to play Bunco.
2. Most people really just want to get buzzed/goofy/drunk, bitch about work and talk about stupid stuff like The O.C.
3. No one appreciates how much time it took to make cute valentine cupcakes!!
4. Too many people make room for booze calories by skipping my dessert.
5. Too many people are worried about calories. Hellooo?? They’re CUPCAKES!! We only do this once a month!!

Maybe my expectations were too high- like when I was little and I always KNEW my birthday would be the THE MOST PERFECT day of my life — EVER. It was always a let down. One year, my principal even made me cry because I was laughing too loud in the cafeteria. I expected Bunco would be marvelous fun, with screaming snatches of dice and lovely prizes to be had. Reality is, of the six months we’ve been playing, we’ve only played the game with all eight players - once! once!! If that’s not a lack of commitment I really don’t know what is.

My plan for the future is to take up crossword puzzles and figure out what to name my fifteen cats.
