Micah, one of those souls I know and shamelessly emailed, forwarded me two leads for freelance work today, both of which look promising regarding getting some cash from doing what I do. It’s funny how I always panic and email my friend Tish about how freaked out I am, only to send her another email before she has the chance to reply saying, “Things are good! I need a reference! Care if I use you?”

She must seriously laugh at me when I’m not looking.

There are so many amazing people in my life who have taken the time to mentor, encourage and befriend me both personally and professionally. Just yesterday I was talking to my father-in-law about how there is a shortage of mentors in the workplace?people who see the possibility in you and encourage you to reach out and achieve it. When someone who isn’t family or a friend of the family, but a complete stranger you just met out of circumstance?when that person looks at YOU and not just your shell and sees something there worth fostering, it’s truly humbling. I can only hope that one day I can have the kind of mentoring, encouraging spirit embodied by my friends. You guys know who you are…thank you.
