All That’s Left
I know that one of my many faults is excessive TV watching and another is how much I post about stupid celebrities and stupid TV shows. That said, I can not believe how many commercial breaks there are during Oprah’s show!! I mean, literally her guest(s) speaks for FIFTEEN seconds and then “we’ll be right back.” After a few minutes of commericials the cycle continues! It’s as though someone switched the ratio of commercial vs. show to be heavier on the commercial side. Blah, I need tivo. I think it’s cheaper to just give up Oprah. Oprah and Coke.
Josh’s birthday was this past Tuesday–he’s 27! Starting to sound old-ish. I think I’m going to be 25 forever. Forget 29. I got him a video game he wanted (Gran Turismo 4?), the hilarious book The Areas of My Expertise by John Hodgman and several CDs including The Decemberists, Say Hi To Your Mom and Sufjan Stevens. Add a perfect strawberry cake with white icing and non-pariels (ok, not quite as perfect as the anniversary cake) and a card with two bunnies on top of a saguaro cactus decorated with streamers and that’s what I like to call a smashing birthday. I would have made him anything for dinner but he chose Dominos. I guess that speaks volumes for my non-dessert cooking, eh?
