While I've been busy, it appears that Cancer has been busy, too. My grandmother told me the other day that my Aunt Maxine has colon cancer. She's an older woman, and I know that colon cancer isn't a very survivable disease when it isn't caught early (...recalling Barbara Moore, who died at age 48, three months after her diagnosis).
Then I found out that childhood friend ...
Two weeks ago last Friday (17th), I received a formal offer from the scrapbooking company. Took the weekend to think it over and accepted it the following Monday. Since then I've been busy essentially working two jobs: the day job and wrapping up all the freelance jobs at night. I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and I can't wait.
Josh and I are ...
Josh and I went to see V for Vendetta last night, and I have to admit I went mostly to spend time with Josh (I've been working a lot). Knowing it was a comic book movie gave me certain expectations, which were low considering the crap that's come out of Hollywood in this genre (see Daredevil and Superman Spiderman!, etc.). However, I was honestly blown away and completely ...
Did any of you guys know there was a composting toilet industry? This toilet is waterless and environmentally friendly because it converts human waste into an "odourless compost." But if you ask me, it just looks like a litter box for humans.
I found it in the paid ad column from a Google search for St. Patrick's Day (clicking the Google logo) under the headline "Green Toilet."
Josh sent me this transcript of Brit Hume asking Bush what was on his ipod:
Bush : Beach Boys, Beatles, let's see, Alan Jackson,
Alan Jackson, Alejandro, Alison Krauss, the Angels,
the Archies, Aretha Franklin, the Beatles, Dan McLean.
Remember him?
Hume: Don McLean.
Bush: I mean, Don McLean.
Hume: Does "American Pie," right?
Bush: Great song.
Hume: Yes, yes, great song.
Unidentified male: . . . which ones do you play?
Bush: All of these. I put it ...
1. Tonight the moon looked like a huge Ritz cracker. The color might have just been pollution, but I think it gave me a craving for cheese (Wensleydale anyone?)
2. The last two times Josh and I moved it was before we'd been there a year. We're nearing the first anniversary in our Dallas house and we're both feeling the itch to get out. We spend a lot of ...
My typical day of late consists of going to the scrapbooking client in Addison at 9:00 or 9:30am. Taking an 11:30 or 12:00 lunch that's often a client meeting, back to the scrapbooking client until 6:00p, after which I grab food to throw down and head to another client who creates direct mail postcards and do that until 10:00 or 10:30pm. For the last week and a ...
You know you're in trouble when you show up to an onsite job and your client says,
Our air conditioner is broken. As the day goes by it's just gotten hotter and hotter and hotter!
How late can you stay tonight?
