New Job Plus Vacation

Two weeks ago last Friday (17th), I received a formal offer from the scrapbooking company. Took the weekend to think it over and accepted it the following Monday. Since then I’ve been busy essentially working two jobs: the day job and wrapping up all the freelance jobs at night. I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and I can’t wait.

Josh and I are planning a vacation to Washington D.C since we haven’t been anywhere in like… over a year and a half! I haven’t ever been to our capital, so I’m psyched. Josh went once but he was little, so it’ll be a good refresher.

Anybody know of must-see places in DC (other than the obvious monuments/museums) (Susan?).

    hey, you mean moi?

I’ll put together a recommendations list for you. Certainly, we should try to see each other. I’d offer a place to stay if my apartment wasn’t such a shoebox!

  3. YES - the Roosevelt memorial. BY FAR my favorite…it’s outdoors, set up as 4 “rooms” illustrating different parts of his life, even if ya didn’t like the guy (which I happened to really) it would still be fascinating from a design perspective. also, the “emerging” statue that is on one of the islands in the river…it’s literally a HUGE man emerging from under the ground and only parts of him are exposed. FASCINATING! I’ll think of some more and find actual info. on the web for you! :-)

  4. Thanks you guys! Susan, I’d love to meet up sometime. Coffee? Pancakes? I’m up for whatever. We plan to be there during the first week of May. Will chat with you soon~

Hi. Go to the Lincoln Memorial at night–very cool. The Corcoran Museum (art) has some lovely stuff but I’d pick the National Gallery if you don’t have much time.

    Have a great time!
