It’s spring now, and we’re all still sweating in Dallas. Today’s high is 81, which is cool around here. I finally got my A/C fixed, and I forgot how marvelous it actually is to have ice cold air blowing in your face while the scorching Texas sun is simulaneously aging your skin with its fatal UV rays.
My little Ford celebrated its 100K birthday on Saturday, just hours after I* replaced an exhaust manifold gasket, fixed the breaks, the A/C and had an oil change –but before this morning where the menu included a front-end alignment, timing belt and spark plugs and wires. One good bit of news is that the engine is running fine, so maybe this American made heap of metal will actually outlast its expectations, being that the odometer tracks only five digits.
*”I” meaning “I paid a nice man down the street to do it all.” I think I may have enabled him to take his standard of living up a notch or two, which translates into a huge smile when he sees me coming…
