Finally, There’s Lithium For Babies
I’m not sure every parent thinks that songs with titles like Brain Damage, Knives Out, Tequila Sunrise and Lithium qualify as baby lullabies, but Baby Rock Records (Via Mr. B.) feels a tad differently. They’ve covered these songs and many more by not-so-kid-friendly bands like Tool, Nirvana and Metallica, using traditional lullaby sounds from the glockenspiel, vibraphone and mellotron. I’ll be the first to admit that several of the original albums could put a baby to sleep as-is (Coldplay - need I say more?). But the clips that are available don’t sound half bad! I think the Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins and Led Zepplin CDs might just replace my favorite baby gift of all time, The Boppy.
