Dear Grandma
I wish you could get online. I know you’re not a typer and computers mostly freak you out, but it would be nice to be able to send you email. Letters can be so tedious and time consuming! I could instantly send you pictures of what I’ve been doing and you could read about my adventures here on the blog. (Nevermind what ‘blog’ means, it’s just a diary.) You could comment and say things like “It’s a throw away world!” or “Those darn Eye-talians!” As strange as they are, I kind of miss your funny nomenclature and northern accent. The way you say ‘warshing powder’ for detergent and ‘roaming’ instead of ’shopping.’
We could argue about whether or not Judge Judy is fair and you could fill me in on the latest re-run of Matlock or Coach. As always, you can encourage me to be myself and to be accepting of other people just as they are.
One day when I have some vacation I’d like to come see you. I’m not sure when that will be since I only have 10 days a year. Until then I’ll try to remember to call before it gets too late.
