The System… works?
I try really hard not to go on political rampages about President Bush on this blog, but lo and behold he did something that wasn’t related to war or torture. Something good! Something I actually wanted!
On October 17th, the President signed the Wright Amendment Reform Act into law, allowing me and my fellow Dallasites to fly anywhere in the US from our local airport. This means my air fares and those of people who want to visit me will plummet. It takes the hedge of government protection for big corporations and tears it down, finally forcing American to compete with Southwest’s prices. The full repeal will happen gradually over the next few years, but starting November 1st, I can buy ONE Southwest ticket from Dallas to Nashville or Phoenix! I have a glimmer of hope, even in this scandal-laden political system that emailing your congressmen can still do some good.
That’s one less link in my ‘politics’ blogroll!

That is WONDERFUL!!!!! I may finally be able to come down and visit Texas again one of these days (before now every time I checked into all the tickets I’d need it never ended up being feasible).
Oh, and I love the Tigers post!!
