It was only two or three months ago that I was commiserating with my brother about how Battlestar Galactica was the only TV serial currently on that was REALLY worth watching. It seemed to be everything that Lost wasn’t. It didn’t have stupid flashbacks every episode and although it included some throwaway episodes, for the most part the show was very strong. This was right after the episode of Lost when Hurley finds the van.

Now, two or three months later, the Lost season 3 finale just ended and I can’t believe how good the show is again. It’s actually living up to the promise it projected at the end of the very first episode when Charlie asked “Where are we?”

If you gave up on Lost too early I feel bad for you but I understand. I almost gave up too until Heather convinced me to watch the Sayid episode where they find Mikhail’s station. Since then, every episode (even the Nikki and Paulo one) has been awesome, with the show getting steadily better and better.

Some things were answered, but then the last few minutes of the finale posit even more questions. Very satisfying however. It’s weird to see a show seem to jump the shark and then turn everything around at the end, as if jumping the shark was just another trick to catch us off guard.
