I’m trying to get into grad school. I took the GRE last week.

At the end it gives you your unofficial scores. I was pleased with the verbal one, it was in my goal range. I called my mom. Told her, and she said, “well…you know you can always take it again!”

Mom took the GRE in the early 90s. Her goal range was higher.

Is ‘goal range’ clunky sounding?

I guess I can always take it again.

I had to write 2 essays - the ‘Issue Argument Task’ and the ‘Argumentative Argument Task’. The first one was 45 minutes and the topic I chose was about loyalty. I contrasted the loyalty of the founding fathers with the loyalty of the Nazis. I wanted to print it out when I was done, it was so perfectly bullshit.

Oh yeah, did I mention Heather and I have been watching ‘John Adams’ on HBO?

At least I didn’t work Sonic Youth and the Suns into the argumentative essay.

‘It is clear that the Green Thumb Grocer cannot continue to compete with the big box stores because, as we all know, Thurston Moore kicks unholy amounts of ass and nobody can stop the pick and roll.’
