I found a taker for my scrapbooking stuff. I also bought a new-to-me car, a 2000 Honda Civic EX. LOVE IT so far. I will have to post a photo soon, but looks a lot like Darek’s and also this guy’s. Quieter on the highway, a smoother ride over all and much better sound! Not sure if the previous owner put in better speakers, but they sound pretty good without taking up the whole trunk (like Josh’s). The funny thing is that the Honda has the same cheap after-market stereo that I had put in my Ford… so a little bit of that Escort is still with me in spirit.

Today a nice guy came buy and test drove the old beater. I actually vacuumed it out and gave it the first car wash it’s seen a in a couple years. And gosh darn if it didn’t clean up nicely. The guy even commented on how clean it was. I hope he will be back tomorrow with all the funds and I’ll get to wave good bye to that POS forever.

Did I mention my new car has a keyless entry keyfob? When I realized it wasn’t just a dealer key chain, I couldn’t help but squeal, “I have a button thingee!” And let me tell you, Josh is super jealous. Ha HA!

In other news, I’ve found that email marketing , or ‘e-blasts’ (or spam), have become a medium of interest in the advertising world. The trouble is, I’ve not seen any good design in this arena. They tend to take on a bit of a newsletter masthead (or nameplate for you purists) style with a big block of color and a logo.

Do you get any commercial email that is semi-pleasant to look at? If so, please forward it to me. The only one that comes to mind for me is Crate & Barrel, but their design tends to be predominantly photo-driven of their pretty products, and unfortunately, that doesn’t work for non-pretty products or services. If you’re in the design or web or advertising arena, let me know if you’ve seen or done anything that would fall into this category. I’d like to see it. Not copy it, but be inspired or become hopeful that such a thing is possible.
