So THIS is why they won’t let her talk to the media.

Honestly, I don’t know why I’m surprised that she’s not familiar with the Bush Doctrine when we’re talking about someone who “hasn’t focused much” on Iraq.

  1. Undoubtedly, foreign policy is not her strong point. She and Obama seem to share the inability to answer any direct question in less than 50 words.

  2. I agree that most politicians are good at beating around the bush so as not to commit to anything either way - but it is doubtful that Obama would have bungled the Bush Doctrine question like a 7th grader who doesn’t know where Pakistan is.

My personal opinion is that Palin’s inexperience (which I define as a lack of general political knowledge) makes Obama look like a seasoned professional - and the “he hasn’t governed” argument defines the Republican’s own presidential candidate as inexperienced, which is hardly the case. We’ll see how it shakes down in the debates.

Lets just hope that people want thoughtful answers to complex questions instead of feel good talking points housed in simplified responses.

“Bush Doctrine” defined by the person who created the term.

    ;)

  5. Can you use “Bush Doctrine” in a sentence please?

  6. I’m pretty sure that Charlie Gibson was allowing her to define it in whatever manner she pleased, and she still appeared to be a deer in the headlights. This is undoubtedly the reason she has been sheltered from subsequent interviews. The McCain campaign can blame the media for “being mean” to Palin, but if you ask me, sheltering her is merely a disservice to anyone considering voting on that side of the aisle. How can you know someone’s position if they aren’t allowed to speak?
